Monster is probably the best known recruitment site of them all after years of brand marketing online and offline. The UK site can be found at monster.co.uk and is part of a worldwide network of Monster websites that spans 38 individual country sites plus regional websites covering many of the remaining territories. Monster claims to have the largest database of CVs in the UK with an additional 3,000 new resumes being added on average every day. These curriculum vitaes can be searched by recruiters and agencies alike for a fee which allows jobseekers to receive relevant and up to date job vacancies to the email inbox. This should, in theory, add another avenue to the repertoire of job searching tools that candidates have at their disposal. Aside from their CV upload functionality, Monster do have a huge selection of vacancies in their jobs database which is searchable by keyword and location among other things. As with all job websites, Monster include a careers advice section where you can brush up on your interview skills, get CV advice and create plans for your career development. Much of the information can be found elsewhere on the internet but Monster do have some unique and interesting insights into the workplace and the job searching market that they have gained from their massive exposure to it. Possibly the most useful part of the Monster site is the forum where jobseekers, careers advisors and recruiters come together to discuss and debate all sorts of careers and job related topics. As a candidate you can better understand what employers are looking for while potentially networking with others who might one day help you find a new job. More on Monster: Uploading Your CV |
