A new survey found that as many as two million permanently employed Britons are attempting to start their own business out of a personal interest. Direct Line for Business conducted the poll asking 2,234 Britons various questions about self-employment. The study found that 23% of those questioned would view starting their own business from a hobby as a dream come true. The survey also included results from several Britons who are already self-employed. Of these people about 32% called the jump a successful move with 25% claiming that their business was a good money maker. Of all the hobby-based business models available, the survey found that selling on eBay, fashion design, web design, and buy-to-let property development were the top fields for successful self-employment.
