Legal Jobs |
|
There are thousands of people employed within the legal system all around the UK and while some of this is related to crime and trials, much of it is actually carried out inside the many companies, charities and organisations that require legal aid in order to ensure all their activities uphold the law. Some of the many legal jobs that you might aim for include: Working with people who are often in desperate situations requires excellent people skills as you need to remain forceful and yet get the job done with the least fuss and hurt. You need to be approved by the courts themselves before you can become a bailiff, private or public. Working in a small team of other barrister's clerks, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the barrister's chamber which involves various tasks from organisational ones through to record keeping. Working on cases, keeping up to date with the latest legal news and case histories and speaking on behalf of your clients in the courtroom are all roles performed by a barrister. Salaries can vary greatly but the very top barristers in the country can expect to receive extremely high payments from their clients. Despite how the job sounds, a company secretary is not normally only an administrator but provides vital legal advice on a daily basis to managers, directors and other staff members to make sure that the company is operating within the law at all times. Working under the supervision and authority of the Ministry of Justice, a coroner is responsible for determining the cause of death if and when that death is suspicious. Since coroners will have to communicate their findings clearly and accurately, good verbal and written skills are important if you are considering a career in this field. Making sure that payments from companies and individuals are made on time and within the agreements that were set out is the role of a credit controller. Debts will sometimes need to be collected from those who haven't paid and this could include seeking out the debtors and demanding payment or even repossessing items of theirs to cover the debt. When couples divorce or separate there can be some complicated issues that arise such as custody of children and splitting of possessions and savings and this is where a family mediator can step in to help the couple come to a amicable agreement all round. The large number of specialist areas in which a legal executive can speciliase makes it difficult to narrow down specific duties but advising people, companies and other organisations in legal matters will make up a great deal of the working day with lots of client contact and research required. Often a precursor to becoming a fully fledged paralegal, the role of a legal secretary involves helping other legal professionals with administrative and time management tasks. Though not a solicitor or barrister, a paralegal still performs many important legal tasks involving clients and other organisations. There are many times when the use of private investigators is quite ordinary and outside the pretenses of the film or literary world, they are hard working individuals who must have good communication skills but are rewarded with fairly high salaries. Helping to keep both local and national communities safe and secure is partly down to the role that probation officers play in rehabilitating criminals into society. Good communication skills are vital when dealing with potentially volatile people along with the police and local governments. |
