Often working in a public-facing role, the hospitality and catering industry is built upon the very highest standards of service and customer care. It does not matter if you are preparing food, maintaining cleanliness or greeting customers, everything must be done to the customer's satisfaction as repeat clients are so very important. This broad umbrella of professions includes jobs for all levels of experience and training and here we give you just a sample of those available. Roles in the catering sector can range from the preparation of the food itself all the way to the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchens and restaurants, via the waiting staff and other service staff. They are big business but rarely do people consider careers in hotels as long term but with the right training and experience you could well see yourself climbing the ranks of the hotel jobs in no time at all. Working in a pub can include late night shifts, weekends and because of the nature of alcohol consumption the occasional problem situation. There are always a great number of people moving in and out of bar jobs as and when they need them which means there are constant opportunities opening up for work if you are vigilant and proactive. |
